It's the only fully automated pharmacy dispensing system that directly stores and dispenses pre-packaged unit-dose oral solids. Bar-code-driven robotics scan every dose for the greatest possible safety and accuracy. Pharmacists are freed from packaging and dispensing activities, so they can play more integral roles on the clinical care team and improve patient care. |

PROmanager-Rx is the only automated pharmaceutical dispensing system specifically designed for accurate dispensing of manufacturer-packaged oral solid medications. It is ideal for patient-centric filling, with bar-code-driven robotics scanning every dose to prevent medication errors for the greatest possible safety and accuracy. Pharmacists are freed from packaging and dispensing activities so they can play more integral roles on the clinical care team. Bar-code scanning also simplifies tasks such as managing returns, expired meds, and overall inventory. The automated pharmaceutical dispensing system receives patient orders electronically from the Connect-Rx® system. The system reads the patient bar code label, associates the patient’s information with the Connect-Rx order, rotates the storage carousel to the position where the medication is stored, scans and selects the medication, and then delivers it either to a cassette on the bin conveyor or to a front chute, where the dispense is verified by bar-code ID scanning. Automatic Restocking The PROmanager-Rx system automatically restocks itself using bar-coded restocking trays. The operator fills the restocking trays with unit-dose medications, loads the trays into the restock drawer, and notifies the system that the medications are ready for restocking. It scans each tray to determine the inventory expiration date; scans each medication to verify medication identification and to assign a storage location; and picks and places the medication into its assigned location. Returned medications are handled in much the same way. The patient-specific container is scanned as are the individual medications to accomplish full crediting before loading medications into the restock trays. |
